The ANU Sign Language Collective
I am a founding member of and the fundraising officer for the ANU Sign Language Collective, a newly inaugurated ANU Club. The Sign Language Collective (SLC) is dedicated to providing accessible Auslan classes to ANU students.
We are delighted to have been awarded a Student Extracurricular Enrichment Fund grant from the ANU’s Postgraduate & Research Students’ Association (PARSA). This grant will provide up to 80 ANU students a two-hour introduction to Auslan, and up to 40 the opportunity to learn Auslan to a confident, elementary level through a 7-week Sign Language 1 course. Our courses are provided by the Deaf Society of New South Wales. The SLC will also be running regular conversation groups.
